Our project definition

How we explored the subject ?

We used: Mental mapping

It is a powerful technique that helps you visualize your thoughts and communicate with others. In addition, conceptual mapping encourages the free flow of ideas, and is the ideal format for brainstorming sessions and creative problem solving.

A mind map is a visual reflection tool that has many advantages over traditional note-taking and writing techniques.

  • Context

Our project would require a smartphone and a connected bracelet.

Its aims are clubbers that are moving to one club to another during the night. During a night out, it happens that a group a friends have different desirs regarding the end of the night. Our project would allow clubbers to find clubbing partners.

    Target

It is designed for clubbers, people that go to night clubs to dance/ hang out with friends, and want to move to another club during the night or want to find people willing to share an uber/hitch/lime to go home.

More specifically, our app and its bracelet aim 1) the people that will part away from the group with whom they entered the club, either because they want to go home early or later than their friend, or because they feel like hitting another club but are the only one wanting to do so. 2) Our second clubber target will be people that came to the club alone and want to create a group of fellow clubber, the connection being made while actually moving out of the club.

    Our service

When a person wants to move out of a club, either to go home or to go to another club, he or she can enter his/her destination on our app. The clubber will then be connected to a group of people that share the same goal as his. His bracelet will light up with a specific color linked to his specific group of people, allowing him to have an easier access to his group physically in the club, where it is dark. The bracelet will also vibrate when the clubber is close to member of the group.

Once two bracelets are touching each other for at least 2 seconds, the app understands that fellow clubers have found each other and it stops vibrating. The light of the bracelet will reduce in intensity but will only stop at the exit of the club so that if other members of the group aren't there yet, they can still spot other members gathered. The bracelet will be equipped with sensors and a set of led as well as a wireless bluetooth connection to connect the device to the smartphone. Our app will work with Ios and Android.

    The Mockup of CLUBBERFINDER

    The App

    What is a Mockup ?

Mockups are demonstrators of your concepts that will allow you to easily get end-users feedback. They provide a medium-fidelity representation of your projetcts.

  • The user test

How to conduct a test ?

We are using the Funnel Approach: means asking broad, general questions first, then leading in to more specific, tougher questions.

Funnel consists of 4 basic steps:

    1. Introduction: introduce yourself, briefly explain the purpose of the test and allow the participant(s) to comment or ask questions.

    2. General information related to the topic: query the tester with general questions. Talk about his habits.

    3. Behavior related to particular issues : ask him to express himself on your application, product or service. Feel free to use the prototype for this part.

    4. Constructive suggestions: ask him how you could improve your prototype

The different tools we are going to use

    How to implement the project

    • Code a mobile App tutorial. This page explains you how to code a mobile App in less than 30 days.
    • Popups and Dialogs. Popups are a great way to quickly add modal and non-modal interactions and notifications to your app. You add a popup just like you add a page or page fragment.
    • Writting a mobile App for a Bluetooth device. 5 crucial steps to make it right: know the Bluetooth Library and Use It, Add a Feature Sandbox, Isolated Logging for Bluetooth Communication, Build a Simulated Bluetooth Device and Carefully Define Your Service.
    • Mobile app design. To help you go further in the design of the App.
